- You can’t fail unless you quit. So don’t quit.
- We don’t give a damn about swearing. That being said, we’re against meanness, both to yourself and to others. Be kind. No self deprecation, gossip, hate speech, harassment, bullying, or doxing.
- Focus on what brings us together, circus! This means:
- No politics talk.
- No religion talk.
- No weight talk. Please keep weight conversations between yourself and your trainer.
- No diet talk. If you’d like to improve your performance through nutrition, please seek the advice of a qualified professional.
- Protect young athletes from abuse. Follow Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies (MAAPP) that limit one-on-one adult/minor interactions and set standards for training and sport settings to protect against abuse and misconduct.
- Take care of each other. Lift each other up both literally and figuratively. Be who you needed when you were younger.
- Be brave. Even if you’re not, pretend to be. No one can tell the difference.
- Ask for help. If you’re unsure if you’re ready to execute a trick on your own or aren’t confident about your wrap, ask before doing.
- Be sober. Don’t drink alcohol or use illicit or prescription drugs before or during your aerial practice. This includes the use of prescription medications that might affect your motor skills and judgement.
- Respect your body. If something hurts or you feel unwell, notify your instructor immediately. Do not “push through” pain.
For the wellness of our Aerialogy community, if you feel this code has been violated by a fellow member or instructor, please notify Laura immediately. Sometimes people make mistakes and need an opportunity to make amends.
